Parenting Tip # 33 Killing your Child’s Imagination

Good fairy

I hope to never find my child down in the basement pretending they are a Dungeons and Dragon’s Dungeon Master or a Medieval sword fighting knight that has been sent from the far reaches of the netherworld to save humanity. As a parent it is necessary to teach your child not to pretend things exist when they really don’t. By not feeding into their imagination it allows them to see the world realistically and that is a saddened somber place were everyone feels alone because their father killed their imaginary friend with a kitchen utensil. Reinforce that fact that imagination is for less fortunate children that don’t have every toy on the planet and that Daddy will no longer buy them stuff if they keep pretending the box is more entertaining then the freakin toy.
