Parenting Tip #13 Never Say if you Finish your Dinner you Get Dessert

images

Eating food provides your body with the nourishment it needs to survive, isn’t that the real incentive for eating dinner. Never provide your child with a reward for doing something that sustains human life. I always tell my children if you aren’t going to eat your dinner you can starve, then I eat their food in front of them. After daddy eats all their food, I go to the kitchen and polish off half a gallon of the Breyer’s Oreo Ice Cream then I say if you would of finished your dinner you would of gotten dessert.

Ah the delights of satire. Well done from 1 to 13. Ironic and scary that there are many people who actually adhere firmly to these rules.
    Laughing knowningly. Thanks.

  4. I’ve got one for you…
Get your kids a puppy, then 3 months later, take it away so they know that you can do it at any time 😛

  5. although not to the same extreme (ie: ice cream torture) i reminded my children that no one has ever starved to death with good food on the table… and sent them off til breakfast… makes ’em tough.

wish i’d done the ice cream trick, though. wonder if it’s too late?

  6. hilarious. still laughing.

NEXT TIME THE CHILD EATS THE DESERT FIRST AND COMES FOR THE DINNER. LIKE SON LIKE FATHER.
