Parenting Tip # 17 Stealing Your Child’s Credit Score

The economy has hit everyone hard and a parent with a 520 beacon credit score can’t even buy a used Ford Escort from Joe’s Used Car Lot. When stealing your child’s identity it is important to have them sign the credit card application, even if you need to hold their hand while they write their name with the crayon, this ensures that is it wasn’t completely identity fraud. When the creditors call and ask for your child because they have fallen delinquent on their first payment it is important to act shocked and tell the collector that your 2 year old doesn’t even talk yet, let alone take calls. A follow up tip: Remember when you ruin your first child’s credit it’s time to have another kid. Also, when the child gets older and finds out you stole their credit make sure you blame it on them, say something that will play on their heart strings, like I did it so you could eat, then pretend to cry. Don’t allow them to point out the real reason, which we all know was for drugs and booze.

When I declined for a loan and got my credit results back, I was shocked to know that I have an active credit card account, with a $13,000 balance that I apparently opened in 1982…the year of my birth!!!! Guess I was a cash crop for my parents, all this time they said I was a “blessing” (i.e a…Whoopsie moment) and now I know the real truth. Geez.
