Parenting Tip # 34 Coaching your Children Through Injuries

It’s mandatory nowadays to coach your children through injuries. The last thing a parent needs is a knock from Child Protective Services. By coaching your children to never blame mommy or daddy for their injuries you can save yourself an afternoon of awkward questioning. This reminds me of a time when I was in third grade my friend’s and I thought it would be a fun idea to run through thorn bushes while waiting for the bus. My mother came outside and told us to stop. In my infinite wisdom I decided I would run through once more, because no one told me no. The last run left my faced gashed and with blood running down my face, I told my mother I wanted to stay home from school. At this point the bus pulled up and my mother said, “Get on the bus, I told you not to run through the bushes.” When I got to school my teacher saw the gash on my face and escorted me to the nurse’s office. The nurse asked in a very concerned voice, “How did this happen to you?” I told her, “My mom did it.”
